GREEN HAITI INTERNATIONAL "GHI"
Let's Work Together!
"At each family, one Stove."
Our goal is to keep working with others to restore and preserve the natural environment in Haiti.
Green Haiti International Foundation in partnership with an international stove manufacturer will open a propane gas stove company that will produce the stoves in Haiti. Our main goal is the use of the propane gas stove in Haitian household as an alternative to the charcoal stoves.
The situation is urgent for Haiti and reforestation must remain a priority in the process of development of the country. . Our goal is to remain faithful to our motto: “At each family, a stove”.
What happen? Why are we called the poorest country of the Northern hemisphere? After 1986, when the Duvalier regime was ousted of power, the short-lasting group that was in power encouraged a great deal of deforestation process that led to considerable reduction of the productivity of the farms, forcing then the farmers to leave their lands and conducting other activities to respond to the constant needs of their families. No governmental incentive had been offered to this group, and the problem kept worsening after the coup d’état of 1991.
How did it happen? The contribution of the U.S government needs to be pointed out in the process of deforestation and the misery of the haitian people. After the coup against the elected president Jean-Bertrand Aristide in 1991, in order to reinstall the exile president back in power, Mr. Bill Clinton, U.S president at that time, imposed an embargo that last over three years on an already weakened and impoverished country (Haiti). the haitian people had no possibility to import any goods, inculded the propane gas while Haiti doesn't produce the gas itself.. As a result, millions of trees were cut down for cooking purposes. As a consequence, Haiti becomes a desert. The embargo imposition on Haiti was a bad decision. For instance, not only it destroyed the country’s environment, but it also mostly affected the poorest people of the countryFrom 1994 to 1998, in addition to the terrible embargo, The United States of America shipped a very large amount of free foods to Haiti, which fueled more the destruction of the local agriculture since the farmers are unable to cope financially with the free detrimental rice offered to the Haitian population.Note: A large number of farmers who abandoned their lands and went to the capital looking for a better life were among the victims of the January 12, 2010 earthquakeThe best and most appropriate action or steps to take now is to revive the land so the remaining farmers living at Port-au-Prince can return to their native province to increase their farm's productivity.

The Green Haiti International dreams a clean and safe environment in Haiti. We praise everyone around the world: Haitians and foreigners to join us in order to make it a reality.
A real national reforestation project. Bring a real solution to the environmental problems and prepare a better future. the land protection that leads to a better productivity for a self sufficient in alimentation. How do we solve this problems? whole civic education campaign to preserve the trees in the land.
Our Activities
Our well trained “Cleaning Team” in Haiti is ready to clean and sanitize the prisons and public Hospitals all around the country. On Monday August 24th, 2020 we started our mission inside the Haitian “General Hospital” at Port-Au-Prince where we're continuously cleaning and sanitizing the whole hospital. We bring the environment inside that hospital to a standard level. We kill all germs and keep on working in a daily basis to assure that everyone can enter the hospital without fear of getting sick because of the bad environment. We are well determined in accomplish our mission. But we cannot do it alone. We really need help.
Did you know how around hundred thousands of people died of cholera in Haiti?
When the United Nations’ soldiers arrived in Haiti, they were mostly deployed in the big cities where they are no Rest Rooms available. The Nepalese soldiers who were already contaminated with cholera from their own country polluted the Haitian rivers with human waste. As the Haitian people use the river water to wash they clothes, to cook and even to drink, they catch the virus and died. In addition, because of the complete absence of the Rest Rooms in the Capital (Port-au-Prince), human waste is everywhere.
How do we solve these problems?
At the first instance, the Green Haiti International will install mobile Rest Rooms in the capital and elsewhere while we collect fund to build public Rest Rooms where it is necessary. To be successful, we need a large number of mobile Rest Rooms and septic cleaning machines to vacuum the waste out regularly.
Why are the septic cleaning machines so important?
The biggest dream of the Green Haiti International Foundation is to transform the colonial toilets that they still using in Haiti in modern Rest Rooms. In Haiti, most of the big institutions such as: churches; public and private schools and even the tribunals are still using the middle ages Rest Rooms while only a low percentage of the private households have a modern Bath Room.
When are we going to see the result of this project?
Step by step, we are moving foward. As we already cleaned and sanitized the general hospital at Port-au-Prince, we are moving to the national penitentiary, the prison of Saint Marck and Mirebalais. Only months later, we will have a standard environment in these prisons while we will continue to clean and sanitize other prisons at the national level.
Human wastes are everywhere in the capital and elsewhere. After the earthquake of January 12, 2010 that destroyed most of the infrastructures in Port-au-Prince, the Haitian population becomes more vulnerable. As a result, because of a lack of public restrooms, one can see human waste everywhere in the capital. The only way to solve these problems is, in the first instance, to place mobile toilets in the most occupied areas until the real public restrooms are built.

As on July 2020, around more than a decade ago after the cholera epidemic ravaged Haiti by killing over one hundred thousand (100,000) people, the Problem of modern public restroom is still unsolved in that country. The Green Haiti International Foundation is commited to solving this problem in its entirely.
Haiti is facing enormous environmental challenges in multiple areas that make everyday life miserable
a whole civic education campaign to preserve the trees in the land
The green Haiti International teams in Haiti and elsewhere are committed to working in multiple fields in order to bring a real solution to the environmental problems and prepare a better future for the Haitian people. The food production is at a lowest level in Haiti
Because the governments favor the importation of food instead of a complete and efficient agricultural program of which result would lead to a self sufficient in alimentation. A real national reforestation project and a whole civic education campaign to preserve the trees in the land is one of the most solutions of this catastrophe. As, because of the deforestation and the negligence of the governments, the land does not produce foods anymore.Germs are killing people inside the public hospitals and national penitentiary centers
Trash of all kinds, germs, mosquitoes and rats are everywhere. Right now, our well trained and dedicated “Green Haiti international” team in Haiti is cleaning and sanitizing the prisons and public hospitals. We want to keep a standard environment inside those places so people can return to visit them at any time.
We are running out of time to save life in Haiti and your donation is the most needed at this present time. Due to the threat of the covid 19 on Haiti, the Green Haiti International already took quick but deep actions by cleaning and sanitizing the General Hospital. we are preparing to intervene in the national detention centers that represent a potential danger for our society in general. In addition, beside of all other actions, a large civic education campaign is important in order to sensitize our populations especially at the rural side of the country where until now people ignore the threat of the corona virus and the need to protect themselves properly. We are seeking your help to hire a large number of young men and women to clean and sanitize our public hospitals and our penitentiary centers all around the country permanently. This effort will save life and create a better environment for the benefice of everyone. Once again, your donation will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
